Flor Contemplacion’s Background

According to the National Library Board (n.d.) Flor Contemplacion (b. 1953–d. 17 March 1995, Singapore) was a Filipino domestic worker convicted of murdering another Filipino domestic worker, 34-year-old Della Maga, and Nicholas Huang, the four-year-old son of Maga’s employer. The murders took place in May 1991, and she was found guilty and sentenced to death in January 1993. She was executed by hanging on 17 March 1995. Although Contemplacion never denied her guilt, her case sparked intense anti-Singapore feelings in the Philippines, which severely hurt bilateral diplomatic relations and caused investments and tourism between the two countries to decline sharply.

Why did I make a review on this and what is MY review?

My rating for this movie is 100/10 because it does not only show Filipinos working for their family abroad. But it also shows how Filipinos are mistreated in other Countries. This movie also shown the Injustice made by the Country to Flor Contemplacion and the unfortunate thing that happened to Delia Magat

  • Firstly, I made this review because I want to Inspire Filipinos to go on even in hard times and we should support each other.
  • Secondly Flor Contemplacion is a Filipino icon loved by many Filipinos for the many Sacrifices made by her to support her family.

My Review about And the Breadwinner is......

                          And The Breadwinner is.. One of the movies in Philippine Cinema Starring Vice Ganda and Eugene Dominguez. The movie show the hardships in family the fights they have to go through to just to get money. They even fought for money because they have a debt and they mortgaged their house as payment. The movie also shows the suffering of the 2nd Child on Taiwan just to support her family, But on the other hand the Oldest came to Italy but later on she got onto debt because of the debt of her husband who has recently died. Back in the Philippines is the 3rd child lying to her older sister because he wanted to go to Dubai for a job but instead got into debt.
